I was wrong when I thought that success in life are always has more to do with education, great connections, being intelligent and genius, and learning from those with more experience. Why I was wrong? I just realized that these things alone are not enough to support the factors needed to achieve success especially if you are a business minded person. It requires more than just intelligence to be successful, success is more dependent on one’s ability to create options and alternatives in life. Some call it diskarte or the skill to be able to play one’s cards right no matter how bad the cards one was dealt with. I remember a guy named Rhasty a friend of mine who told me about his experiences. He told me that success has much to do with diskarte and hardwork , unfortunately he didn’t able to finish his studies because of poverty. But the best thing that he told me about his experiences is that despite of the fact that he was not able to pursue a college degree, he was able to achieve SUCCESS (Financially). He has a business of selling dried fish, believe it or not he is gaining Php120, 000.00 up every month because of this, he was able to support financially the studies of his siblings and now most of them are degree holders. I was really amazed about what I heard and inspired.Whether you are a technopreneur or entrepreneur it is necessary that we have the guts specifically acquiring the personal traits needed to reach our goals
Based In my thoughts a good technopreneur should posses these characteristics to achieve SUCCESS. These characteristics are:
• Innovative & Opportunistic
• Willingness to take risk
• Initiative
• Self reliance
• Perseverance (keep trying to achieve something)
• Need to achieve
• Self confidence
• Leadership
• Competitiveness
• Good physical health
• Creative
• High level of energy
• Versatility
When we say personal traits, what are the things that will come first in our mind? We may refer to our character, attitude, physical appearance, social interactions, skills, intellects, and etc.
Personality is made up of the characteristic patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that make a person unique. In addition to this, personality arises from within the individual and remains fairly consistent throughout life. In other words, this means that personality traits are the distinguishing characteristics or components that make us.
Personality traits are the unique set of characteristics and qualities that only each of us possess. While a lot of people might have similar personality traits, each person combines these traits in a different way, to create one unique, irreplaceable collection of traits that make up their individual personality.
The most basic important personal traits that a technopreneur should acquired to achieve SUCCESS are IQ, EQ, and AQ. These three quotients have a big impact in all personal aspects of a technopreneur because each of these collaborates to support the needs and necessity that he/she will encounter in running the business. SUCCESS = IQ+EQ+AQ, meaning intelligence quotient alone is not sufficient neither emotional quotient or adversity quotient alone is not enough. These personal traits share an important role in building a successful technopreneur.
What is an Intelligence Quotient (IQ)???
Based on my own understanding IQ is measured through a test wherein the results will reflect how clever or genius we are. It describes how do we think logically, how do we solve analytical problems and etc. Hmmmm! Is that correct?…. Hehehe!
As I remember, I took an IQ test when I tried to study in seminary. Luckily, I passed the test but unfortunately I failed on the interview of the priest. huhuhu!
To be more exact I read some articles last night regarding these Quotients.
To understand IQ (Intelligence Quotient), you should first have an idea about what intelligence is - read various definitions.
IQ scores reflect general capacity for performing intellectual tasks, such as solving verbal and mathematical problems.
The average IQ score is 100. The standard deviation of IQ scores is 15. So, this means:
• 50% of people have IQ scores between 90 and 110
• 2.5% of people are very superior in intelligence (over 130)
• 2.5% of people are mentally deficient / impaired / retarded (under 70)
• 0.5% of people are near genius or genius (over 140)
IQ Scores & Ratings
What is a good IQ score? What is a high IQ score? What is a low IQ score? These are common questions, particularly after someone finds out their score from an IQ test.
Lewis Terman (1916) developed the original notion of IQ and proposed this scale for classifying IQ scores:
• Over 140 - Genius or near genius
• 120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence
• 110 - 119 - Superior intelligence
• 90 - 109 - Normal or average intelligence
• 80 - 89 - Dullness
• 70 - 79 - Borderline deficiency
• Under 70 - Definite feeble-mindedness
Normal Distribution & IQ Scores
The properties of the normal distribution apply to IQ scores:
• 50% of IQ scores fall between 90 and 110
• 70% of IQ scores fall between 85 and 115
• 95% of IQ scores fall between 70 and 130
• 99.5% of IQ scores fall between 60 and 140
Low IQ & Mental Retardation
5% of people have an IQ under 70 and this is generally considered as the benchmark for "mental retardation", a condition of limited mental ability in that it produces difficulty in adapting to the demands of life.
Severity of mental retardation can be broken into 4 levels:
• 50-70 - Mild mental retardation (85%)
• 35-50 - Moderate mental retardation (10%)
• 20-35 - Severe mental retardation (4%)
• IQ < 20 - Profound mental retardation (1%)
High IQ & Genius IQ
Genius IQ is generally considered to begin around 140 to 145, representing ~.25% of the population (1 in 400). Here's a rough guide:
• 115-124 - Above average (e.g., university students)
• 125-134 - Gifted (e.g., post-graduate students)
• 135-144 - Highly gifted (e.g., intellectuals)
• 145-154 - Genius (e.g., professors)
• 155-164 - Genius (e.g., Nobel Prize winners)
• 165-179 - High genius
• 180-200 - Highest genius
• >200 - "Unmeasurable genius"
More notes on High IQ and Genius IQ:
• Einstein was considered to "only" have an IQ of about 160.
• Mensa is a society for people with high IQ, in the top 2% (1 in 50).
• In 1926, psychologist Catherine Morris Cox published a study "of the most eminent men and women" who had lived between 1450 and 1850 to estimate what their IQs might have been.

I took an Intelligence quotient test awhile ago in the internet and there are a total of 38 items in all. I got a general IQ score of 92 wherein the cognitive designation is Average. As I observed those question are based more on logical thinking. Some of those questions are quite difficult and confusing , those were answerable by a true or false within 13 seconds.
What is an Emotional Quotient (IQ)???
Last, last week we had an Emotional Quotient test there were 32 questions. Those question were answerable by a letter A or B. There is a total of 50 points all in all. In each statement or questions there is a corresponding point in every decision or reactions that you would choose. Fortunately I got 49 points. Of course I am so happy because I have reached the very technopreneur level. Hehehe
by the way, what is this emotional quotient is all about?
-Emotional Quotient -EQ actually stands for Emotional Intelligence Quotient. Much like an intelligence quotient, or IQ, an EQ is said to be a measure of a person’s emotional intelligence. However, there is much debate surrounding the legitimacy of a definition of emotional intelligence quotient, primarily because there is no standard against which it can be measured.
What is the Aspect of Emotional Quotient?
-Self-Awareness
-Control over Impulses
-Sociability
Emotional Intelligence, also known as Emotional Quotient or EQ, is all the buzz right now. EQ is the ability we have to use, communicate, recognize, remember, learn from and manage our relationships with other people. It is, in effect, the skills we've developed for building our social capital with those we wish to network with.
Some people just seem to have a knack for interacting or networking with other people. They have a high EQ. On the other hand, for some people networking is a very uncomfortable process. The higher one's EQ, the more natural it seems for an individual to network. I believe that EQ can be developed, whereas IQ is generally static and not easily improved. This means that you can actually improve your EQ by understanding and applying some important concepts to your networking practices

What is an Adversity Quotient (IQ)???
When we hear the word adverse the first thing that enters in my mind is the difficulty,
challenges, failures, and hardships that we encountered.A life without obstacles is as good as dead.
Whether they are everyday problems or crisis situations, how we handle them will
determine how good we are as a leader or as a boss of our company. The weak leaders
crumble when the odds stack up and surrender even before any
attempt to overcome the obstacles. The great and successful
leaders on the other hand see adversity as a challenge and an opportunity to grow. Against
all odds, they rise above the difficulties and land up scaling
greater heights than before. They do not merely survive the
adversity, they thrive. Leaders should continually conquer
adversity and, amid the chaos, look out for new opportunities to
undertake and excel in.
Why it is important for technopreneurs to develop these personal traits?
It is important for a technopreneurs or the bosses of the company to develop these personal traits because each of these traits collaborates for the success in reaching the goal and purpose of the business. We all know that venturing in a business is a risky and full of obstacles wherein it may result to success or failure. It is a risk basically because it is our money that we are investing for. A leader should necessarily posses those traits in order to have the INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT that would create brilliant, creative, and productive ideas, an EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT that will generate a harmonious atmosphere within the hive and to the customers that they serve for, and lastly, the ADVERSITY QUOTIENT that will strengthen the foundation of the company so that during the time of obstacles they would face it as a challenge to overcome and as a opportunity to grow.
Wew! Chill!
